These instructions are geared to people who are well versed in using both 3ds Max and A360. These instructions are meant to help you optimize your workflow so that you can produce 360 stereo panoramas that work well with the Visual Vocal web portal and mobile VR application.

  1. From the main menu in 3ds Max, choose Rendering → Render in the Cloud
  2. In the Render Setup dialog,
    1. Choose a view to render
    2. Ensure the Open A360 Gallery when rendering submitted checkbox is enabled
    3. Leave default width and heigh as is, we will set the final render size later on in the A360 web site
  3. Hit the big Render and your model should start uploading to the Autodesk A360 web rendering service
  4. After your model uploads, the A360 website will open in your web browser
    1. Find your model in the list
    2. Click the down arrow button
    3. Choose Render as → Stereo Panorama from the menu
  5. In the Render Settings dialog, 
    1. Select the Environment, Render Quality, and Exposure settings as desired
    2. Set the width to 1024 pixels
  6. When rendering completes,
    1. Find your model in the list
    2. Click the down arrow button
    3. Choose Download Stereo-Pano as Zip from the menu
  7. After downloading completes,
    1. Open the zip file
    2. The stereo cube map is named image.png. Extract it and optionally rename it to something more meaningful before uploading it to the Visual Vocal Web Portal
