Trimble SketchUp with V-Ray 2.0 (Mono Spheremap)

V-Ray 2 does not support stereoscopic rendering, so only monoscopic rendering is possible.

SketchUp can only render stereo images with V-Ray 3+. Refer to the support article, "Trimble SketchUp With V-Ray 3.5 (Stereo Cubemap)" for more information.

These instructions are geared towards people who are well-versed in using both SketchUp and V-Ray. These instructions are meant to help you optimize your workflow so that you can produce 360° monoscopic panoramas that work well with the Visual Vocal web portal and mobile VR application.

For information on what kinds of image files you should upload, including recommended resolutions, refer to the article, What Kinds Of Content Can Be Uploaded To Visual Vocal?

  1. Open the V-Ray options dialog by choosing Extensions → V-Ray → Options from the menu.
  2. Open the Camera settings.
    1. Set the camera type to Spherical.
    2. Enable the Override FOV checkbox and set the value to 360 degrees.
    3. Disable the physical camera.
  3. Open the Output settings
    1. Set the width to 4096.
    2. Set the height to 2048.
  4. Render the scene by choosing Extensions → V-Ray → Render from the menu.
  5. In the V-Ray Frame Buffer window, click the floppy disk button to save the completed render as a JPEG file.
