Using the Samsung Gear 360 (2017) panoramic camera with Visual Vocal

The Samsung Gear 360 camera is a panoramic camera that quickly captures monoscopic panoramas. By default, this camera works with an app available only on Samsung Android phones and the iPhone 6 and 7.

Samsung has a helpful quick-start guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXAZLLnmF5U.

Here are the instructions for Samsung Android phones and iPhones:

1. Install the Samsung Gear 360 app from the app store. It is only available on the App Store for iPhones and on the Google Play Store for Samsung Android phones.

In the Gear 360 app, click on "Gallery" and switch to the "GEAR 360" tab. Find the image that you want to export from the device and click on it. Click the "Save" button to export the image to your the camera roll of your mobile device.

The resulting image is a monoscopic equirectangular image (an example of which is shown below), which is native supported by Visual Vocal. Use the web authoring portal or mobile authoring to upload the image and ensure that the image type is "Monoscopic Photosphere".
